Quinn is talking to the birds. He said "look Mommy they get to be in the snow"

funny how when you are 3 yrs old you think of it as "getting to be in the snow"

when you get older you think of it as "oh no i dont want to go in the snow"

so cool to think that everything in the world is just new to him and he embraces it all joyfully... :))

Pooor cat! Quinn was carrying Black cat into the other room saying "come on kitty..I have a surprise for you"
I bet the cat loved it.He was putting him in a plastic bin..
Black cat jumped out and got away.

No animals were injured in the making of this blog.

Tonight while riding in the car Quinn told me that God was going to turn into an eagle and fly to the grocery store and get some milk. Because he wanted milk and cookies. Then Quinn siad he wished that him and I could turn into eagles and go see God.

Quinn wants to "ask Daddy if he wont be grumpy if we get a new kitty."

I bet daddy would be very grumpy if we ask him this.

Our Sammy Siamese came up missing 3 weeks ago. Quinn and I miss him a lot.

Saturday i djayed a wedding reception and they had a bottle of bubbles left over. My cousin Raeann gave the bubbles to Quinn but..he said he wanted to leave them there in case they had another party and some other little kid wanted them. I thought that was very sweet.
Raeann told him "Well I will tell you what, the next time I have a party you can just bring them with you."
Quinn accepted that deal.
Raeann is smart.

Today I came out of the bathroom and didnt know where Quinn was. I said "where are you and what are you doing?"
He was in the bedroom and he said "im just playing dress up. I'm dressing up like a princess." he had on my shirt hanging to the floor.
Then he started running through the house yelling "I'm a super princess!"

Flowers Quinn picked for me 2 days ago.

Quinn inside the spaceship he made. The spot on the sheet is the flashlight he had to have to put inside of it.

Quinn was throwing up all night. he has cramps in his belly. This is all new to him and he didnt know what was happening.
He is enjoying the 7-up mama gave him though. :)
He is starting to feel better thank God.

so sad for Quinn., he feels better for a little while and then he gets cramps in his belly...
can tell by his picture he is sick...he doesnt normally drool

So Quinn has learned how to be a smart aleck.
The other day he had asked me something and I told him no. He asked why and I said because I'm the boss. He said "But I'm still a person."

Today I was getting him dressed after a bath. I said "you need to hold still. Stop moving your arms. Stop moving your body. Stop making weird noises." He continued exhaling loudly and being silly. I said " Quinn I said stop making weird noises." To which he said "Can I breathe?"
Oh Lord, I can only imagine him as a teenager...

I would like to thank everyone and everything in the universe that had a hand in creating my child and most especially GOD.

I told Quinn his story today.
I told him mommy wanted a baby so bad I would cry every day. Then I went to the doctor and the doctor said mommy's eggs were broke and I needed different eggs. So I asked my friend Jamie if I could have some of her eggs and she said yes. Then the doctor put those eggs in mommy's tummy and one grew into him.
Then I said we need to say thank you Jamie for giving mommy some eggs. To which Quinn said "Can we ask Jamie for some fruit?"

All in all I think the conversation went well.

I told Quinn they were bringing us a new bed tomorrow and he folded his hands together and said: "Are they bringing us a new whistle too?"
I said: " Why would they bring us a new whistle?"

He said: "Because I like new whistles!"

Rick to Quinn: "You sure are a good helper!"
Quinn: "Yes I am!"

This morning Quinn had the flashlight and said "Let me look in your throat."
I said "Okay."
As he was looking in it I said "How's it look Dr. Quinn?"
He said "Throaty."

yesterday I was talking to my sister and Quinn started crying. I said" What happened? Did you bite your tongue?"
He said "I was jumping on the bed and my tongue just fell right out."

The other day Quinn said " Mommy do you hear those guns?" (we have a shooting range just down the road, so lucky me i get to hear guns shooting all day every day) said "yes."

Quinn said "You don't like guns do you?" I said "no I dont. Do you?" He said "Yes. I do like them. " Then he said very seriously. "But its ok Mommy. I will never shoot guns Mommy. I promise."

Now I have never directly told Quinn he couldnt shoot guns. He just picked that up because I dont like them and he wants to make me happy. He is such a sweet lil guy.

Quinn graduated to a size 10 shoe today. And size 3 clothes. My baby is no longer a baby. :(

Today while we were driving to Mcdonalds Quinn said " It's okay Mommy. God will take care of you."
And then he said "Did God tell Jacob He will take care of him." I said "yes" and Quinn said "He will take care of us too."
He amazes me.

This morning Quinn wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. When he sat down to eat it he asked " Is this a dam sandwich?" I said "No. It's peanut better and jelly, silly. " He said " Oh it's a dam peanut butter sandwich." Dam means HAM. It made me chuckle.

Quinn: "Does God have hands?"
Me: "Yes He probably does."
Quinn: "I wish I had wings so I could fly up and Talk to God. I would really like to see Him."

Quinn: "I really wish I could have a steering wheel. But you won't let me. That's what I really, really want"

Quinn was reading books to his boy. He has a boy named Alex. so he says

At 3 yrs 3months Quinn can count backwards from 5. He knows many letters on sight.He has a lot of problems reciting the alphabet though.

He knows his colors. He knows that a red light means stop and a green light means go. He knows most of his shapes although he seems to forget them?

He can carry on full conversations. He is funny and has a good sense of humor. He likes to joke. He loves people and I am trying to teach him that not all people are his friends, That makes me sad. I don't like having to teach him that there are evil people in the world. People that will hurt him. He truly does not understand it at all. He thinks all people are good and are his friends. having to teach him different takes away a little bit of his innocence I think.
He loves animals. He is independent. He loves to learn. He has a fantastic imagination. He is artistic. He loves to sing. he sings all day long while playing.
He still has many eating issues although he will now eat foods that have different textures in them - for instance yogurt with fruit. He still will not eat things like spaghetti and pasta. He says "I love to not like spaghetti mommy."
He is afraid of thunderstorms at night but is ok during the day. He loves rain.
He loves the cartoon Caillou. He repeats many things that Caillou says, like, "are we there yet?"
He loves Little Einsteins, Super Why, Team Umizoomi, and just about any learning show.
He likes to dance and he likes to do somersaults on the couch.
He remembers the funny guy from Halloween last year and wants to know where the store put him because he is bigger now and not afraid.
He can't wait for Christmas.
He is the sweetest, most compassionate child I know.
Yesterday in the car Marilyn had his fireman hat. He wanted it And was demanding she give it to him. I said "no Quinn. Marilyn had it first. he cried and cried. After a couple of seconds Marilyn handed him the hat. Quinn handed it back an said "no..you can play with it." He was still crying like his heart was broke. But he was still willing to let Marilyn have the hat. It made me proud.
I love this boy with all my heart and every bit of my soul.

Quinn: "Daddy, Marilyn said she was going to bring me candy."
Daddy:"She did?"

Quinn: "Yes she did."
Daddy: "Well she might not, she's a kid you know."
Quinn: "She's not a kid! She's a girl!"

Last night Quinn was up all night crying because he has a hang nail on his big toe. Finally at 4:30 am (after I put a band aid on it) I said: "How about if we say a prayer about your toe and maybe God will make it feel better?"
So I prayed. "Dear God please make my toe stop hurting. In Jesus name, Amen"

Afew seconds later Quinn said "Did you hear God?"
I said " No. Did you?"
Quinn said "Yes"
I said "Really? What did He say?"
Quinn said "He told me He has a brown watering can for me."

We were watching Land Before Time and they were singing a song.

I said "I don't like this show. It's making me cry."

Quinn said "Well turn it off."

I said "Do you want me to turn it off."

He said "Yeah. It's for babies!"

Um HELLO?? you are my baby!

standing in the cleaning aisle today and quinn says ..."isnt this just the most beautiful aisle in the store...i love it"

On July 22nd 1999 our son Jadon was born at just 18 weeks.

An angel opened the book of life

and wrote down a baby's birth.

Then she whispered as she closed the book

"too beautiful for earth.

Quinn: "Mommy what color is God's tail?"

Me: "I don't know."

Quinn: "I think its brown. And I think its brown and white!"

Me: " Oh really?"

Quinn: " Mommy does God have a box of tails?"

Me: "I bet he does."

Quinn: "yes He does."

Quinn: "Mommy what did God give us?"

Me: "God gave us life and the earth and the flowers and the trees and the butterflies and all the animals. God gave us a lot!"

Quinn: "Did He give us the stars and the moon?"

Me: "Yes. He gave us everything."

Quinn: "Even speakers?"

Me: "He gave us the knowledge to make speakers. And music to sing beautiful songs."

Quinn: " I like songs."

Funny!
Quinn yelling into a stock pot "HELLO!! IS SOMEBODY THERE?" then he says to his dad..."Somebody's in there daddy" He was listening to his echo.
LOL....he's so funny.
Yesterday he told me " I'm tired of these people being so loud all the time" I said "what people are those Quinn?" He said "The ones inside my head!" I said "You have people in your head??" he said "Noooooooo"and giggled ..then he said " I just wish they would be quiet!"

Today...Quinn told me he wanted a "pake" with a peanut butter sandwich on it...with jelly

"pake" means cake!

...for the first time ever Quinn ate an entire peanut butter and jelly sandwich... he has never eaten an entire sandwich...my little boy is getting big... i know its seems like nothing ...but to me ...it is really cool..

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY 2011!!!

June 8th 2011...worst day of my life!!!

Had to call 911 because i could not find Quinn. I was int eh laundry room for about 1 minute and he was in the kitchen getting jelly beans out of the cupboard. When i cam out he was GONE. I could not find him anywhere. I was screaming his name and he was NOWHERE...when i went outside to scream for him it was deathly quiet and very empty and lonely feeling...

Called 911 and the man on the other end told me to calm down..LOL...yeah right!!!

As i was talking to him I heard Quinn cry...still couldnt find him and then he really started crying hard....he was in the window behind the sink....UG...the ledge is about 2 ft deep and he was behind the curtain. I could not see him at all!!!! Most frantic 10 minutes of my life ever.

Yes God reminded me what was important in my life...

Quinn loves to sing. He puts a bunch of different songs together into one song!!

For instance Old MacDonald and Jesus Loves Me and the ABC song...

Thank you Jamie for making my Mothers day possible.

Quinn's new phrase for the last couple of days "that was close mommy"...

toast, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a Happy Mothers Day song from daddy and Quinn today!

HA HA quinn says "im magnet man , im magnet man...i can be upside on the wall" ..then he tried to climb the wall..!!

Quinn is potty trained now. It only took 1 day but for me it is a bittersweet victory. My baby is no longer a baby. But still I can say...yaaay no more poopy diapers!

I'm 3 today!!!

Today my baby turns 3 years old. Hard to believe it was that long ago that i held you for the first time. Yet it seems like you have always been in our lives. You are growing stronger and wiser every day. I pray that the world is ready for you and you are ready for the world. May only goodness come into your life my son and may you always walk through life with goodness in your heart. I love you Quinn forever and always you will be my truest love.

when quinn is startled or confused by something he shouts " what was the heck mommy?"

Easter was a hit. Quinn loves it.

awww Quinn is so darn cute... he has chocolate sandwich cookies and he took them apart and put them up to his eyes and said "look i have button eyes" (because he loves frosty the snowman)

yesterday we were watching Rachel Ray and Quinn says "wow thats a really nice pan she has huh

mom".....then a little later he said " wow..thats a really nice whisk she has huh mom" LOL....i

thought it was funny...how many 2 year olds know what a whisk is or how nice a pan is???

I'm so lax about updating in here.

Hard to believe my baby is going to be 3 years old in 33 days.

He has learned many things including how to throw a temper fit!!

He talks non stop and his language is getting easier to understand. Just now he brought me a dime and said " look Mommy I brought you a lucky lucky penny".

He says "no thank you and yes thank you".

He has a great imagination and talks to many imaginary things. He is just starting to understand shadows. He was very afraid of them for a long time. He is very generous and giving and an all around sweet guy.

Quinn learned to pedal his bike today. 2yrs, 8 months 2 weeks, 2 days

Saturday January 15th my sister Jennifer spent the night with her 2 grand daughters. Jennifer and her granddaughter Marilyn were awake but Angelica was still sleeping. Quinn said "aunt Jennifer and Angelica were sleeping but when they wake up they are BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES." As he said it his hands were folded across his chest and he spread his arms wide like a butterfly awakening from its cocoon.

I love it.
